Film Acting Movie Experience – (FAME) for Beginners
This workshop is designed for new and beginning actors to learn about the methods used in film acting including film set protocols and tips how to work with set technicians and crew. Through role playing and simulations each actor will learn basic acting techniques to deliver a natural performance on camera, plus memorization skills, basic scene study and experience on a real movie set. Actors will practice short monologues and scenes that are then acted on camera and evaluated for improvement.
Conducted in a film studio environment, students will engage in role playing exercises, performing basic scenes to develop a believable on-screen performance.
Topics: Basic acting methods for getting into character, acting techniques for delivering a natural performance, memorization skills, establishing eyelines, understanding the 180˚-rule, learn the key film crew positions on a film set and how a scene is shot.
The acting workshops offer avocational secondary objectives that are NOT within the school’s scope of institutional accreditation.
We are pleased to announce that Jeff Thomakos will be teaching the workshop. Jeff is a Michael Chekhov Technique certified instructor who has studied with master teachers from all over the world. Additionally, he has over three decades of experience in Shakespearean and classical acting, Acting-for-the-Camera, Improv, Commedia del ‘Arte, and more. MPI is extremely excited to welcome him to the family.

We are pleased to announce that Jeff Thomakos will be teaching the workshop. Jeff is a Michael Chekhov Technique certified instructor who has studied with master teachers from all over the world. Additionally, he has over three decades of experience in Shakespearean and classical acting, Acting-for-the-Camera, Improv, Commedia del ‘Arte, and more. MPI is extremely excited to welcome him to the family.

HOW TO APPLY
Payment: All workshops require full payment at time of application. No partial payments or pro-rated payments are accepted. If the workshop is unavailable at the time of your registration, we will return your check.
Cancellation: In the unlikely event that Motion Picture Institute needs to cancel registrations for the workshop prior to the start date, your entire payment will be refunded. Returned checks will be mailed to the registrant’s home address.
Participation Cancellation Refunds: In the event a registrant elects to cancel enrollment, full refunds (less a $100.00 processing fee) will be given if written cancellation notice is received fifteen days prior to the start date. Any cancellation after this date, student will receive a 50% refund. No refunds are given five business days after the start of the workshop. Registrants who withdrawal within the five business days after start will be receive a pro-rata refund based on the percentage of time attended in the workshop.
