We’ve steadily built the A-team over the years at MPI. From a former Columbia Pictures Executive to the world's largest independent producer of professional sound effects libraries, our staff is full of working industry professionals who know the practices and tools of the movie business. Our graduates are working behind the scenes on some of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters. The critically acclaimed feature documentary APOLLO 11 (aired on CNN and played at Sundance) was directed and edited by MPI Grad Todd Douglas Miller. Travel Channel’s long running, top rated, Ghost Adventures was created and is hosted by MPI graduate Zak Bagans.
Before alumni like Todd and Zak could make it in the business, they went through the admissions process and trained at MPI. To help find and recruit the most creative and high potential filmmaking talent, we are proud to share that we have added another industry veteran to our staff.
Michael Shiner has joined MPI as its new Admissions and Marketing Director. Mike brings a lifetime of expertise in the education space to his new role. Previously, he was Marketing Director at Specs Howard, VP of Admissions and Marketing at the Detroit Engineering Institute, Director of Ross Medical Education Center in Madison Heights, MI; Regional VP and Print Manager for Ross Education, Inc., and President of Marketwise Educational Services, Inc.
Michael is looking forward to connecting area creatives with hands-on film education. You can drop him a welcome note at firstname.lastname@example.org. Better yet, connect an up and coming director, producer, screenwriter or other movie buff with Michael to help build the next generation of filmmakers. Together, we can educate, inform and empower the creatives we know and help them to achieve their goals.
Cheers to that, and to Michael. Welcome aboard!
